This past Sunday, Syracuse University held its 35th annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, at which 5 people were awarded with the Unsung Hero Award for their contributions to their communities and dedication to bettering the lives of others. The categories included community member, student, faculty and staff.
One of CLASS’s own, Justine Hastings ’21, was the recipient of the student Unsung Hero Award.
Justine joined CLASS as an academic coach at the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester, helping students become expert independent learners by introducing them to effective study strategies. Justine has since become a CRLA level 1 certified coach, and will continue to coach this semester to help students succeed in their classes.
