CLASS’s own Justine Hastings ’21 was the recipient of the student Unsung Hero Award during Syracuse University’s 35^th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on January 26, 2020. Five individuals were honored with the Unsung Hero Award for contributions to their communities and dedication to bettering the lives of others. The categories included community member, student, faculty and staff.

Justine joined CLASS as an academic coach at the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester, helping students become expert independent learners by introducing them to effective study strategies. Justine has since become a CRLA level 1 certified coach, and will continue to coach this semester to help students succeed in their classes.
